AURORA — Issues with RTD rail crossing equipment have caused several traffic signals to malfunction in Aurora for the past several days. The issues impacting the intersection of 30th Avenue and Peoria Street may have contributed to multiple crashes, including a crash involving an Aurora police vehicle Thursday morning.“I’ve witnessed three accidents so far … in the last three days,” an employee at a nearby business with a view of the intersection told Denver7.The employee provided Denver7 with surveillance footage showing two vehicles colliding with each other Saturday afternoon.Every traffic signal in the intersection flashes, and as a Denver7 crew witnessed, not every driver abides by the four-way stop that’s initiated with such traffic conditions.Read the full story at Denver7.com.Sign up to get crime news sent straight to your inbox each day.

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 08:47:15 GMT

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The joy Paul Maurice felt on the morning of the start of the Stanley Cup Final was also tinged with sadness. The veteran coach knew there were only at most seven more games left to play.He had developed a greater appreciation for this moment with the Florida Panthers, 21 removed from his first trip to the final. Bruce Cassidy felt the same way being back as coach of the Vegas Golden Knights three years after falling one win short with Boston. One of them will hoist the Cup for the first time, and their presence in the final is evidence of why NHL teams looking to win put a priority on experienced coaches. Often derided as “recycled” or “retreads,” coaches like Maurice and Cassidy provide tangible value navigating crucial situations.“Depending on where your team’s at likely dictates to some extent the decisions that you’re going to make with respect to that position,” said Vegas general manager Kelly McCrimmon, who fired Peter DeBoer after his team missed the playoffs...

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 08:47:15 GMT
